Below is an update from Susan Lucas following the tea party fundraiser held at The Leckie Memorial Church Hall on 31st August 2013 in aid of The Alec Lucas Memorial Fund.

I would like to thank everyone for supporting this ‘first off’ Afternoon Tea Party to raise funds for The Alec Lucas Memorial Fund. The day was fantastic selling all 52 tickets and the total raised was over £800.00.

Many thanks go to my family and friends for all the support, help and baking that went into making this afternoon such a success. Also to the very talented local harpist who played during the afternoon and to the 2 local Tweed Theatre ladies, who stole the show with all their amusing poems about ‘life through their eyes’.

With such generosity and enthusiasm of all who attended and those who helped behind the scenes a big thank you to you all for making this event so successful.
